Our client is seeking a Junior Accountant with approximately 5 years’ practical accounting experience to join their finance team.

This opportunity is suited to an accounting professional who has progressed beyond transaction processing and can work independently with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity through accurate reconciliations, applying accounting and tax principles, supporting month-end reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial and statutory requirements.

Work Model: Onsite every day.

• Prepare and maintain accurate bank, supplier, customer, inventory and general ledger reconciliations.
• Process and maintain the cash book.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
• Prepare journal entries and account allocations.
• Generate invoices, statements and reconciliations.
• Capture inventory purchases and vehicle sales.
• Maintain inventory records and support stock counts.
• Prepare month-end accounting schedules and reconciliations.
• Assist with management accounts and financial reporting.
• Support balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow reporting.
• Apply VAT legislation and accounting principles to financial transactions.
• Assist with provisional tax supporting documentation.
• Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit queries.
• Maintain financial records using Sage and related finance systems.
• Support payroll administration when required.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, SARS legislation and POPIA requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and processes.

• Relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Approximately 5 years’ accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proven experience preparing and investigating financial reconciliations.
• Sound knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Experience with month-end accounting processes.
• Working knowledge of VAT legislation and accounting treatment.
• Experience using Sage Accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Own reliable transport.
