Job Description

An experienced Senior Programme Manager is required to lead a strategic Portfolio Rationalisation Programme across a complex enterprise IT environment.

The successful candidate will provide end-to-end programme leadership across multiple portfolios and delivery waves, coordinating Scrum Masters, Change & Communication resources, Enterprise Architecture and business stakeholders within a federated delivery model.

This role owns the integrated programme plan, governance, stakeholder engagement, RAID management, budget oversight, reporting and benefits tracking, ensuring alignment across multiple teams and delivery streams.

Contract Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: Ideally 1 September 2026
End Date: 28 February 2027
Hours: 160 hours per month
Work Model: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Portfolio Rationalisation Programme across multiple portfolios and workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain the integrated programme plan, roadmap, milestones and dependencies.
  • Establish and manage programme governance, reporting and decision forums.
  • Manage programme RAID, escalations and cross-team dependencies.
  • Coordinate Scrum Masters, Change & Communication resources and Enterprise Architecture contributors.
  • Manage stakeholders across business and IT functions, including executive-level engagement.
  • Oversee programme budget, resource planning and forecasts.
  • Track programme outcomes, rationalisation opportunities and benefits realisation.
  • Provide programme reporting to sponsors, steering committees and senior leadership.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience leading complex IT, digital or transformation programmes.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams within matrixed environments.
  • Strong programme planning, governance, RAID and dependency management capability.
  • Experience managing programme budgets, forecasts and resources.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across technical, business and executive audiences.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple delivery streams.
  • Experience working across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and leadership skills.
