Job Description
Health and Safety Coordinator – Catering Division (Tsebo Solutions Group)
Tsebo is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to support its Catering division. This role is essential in ensuring safe, hygienic, and legally compliant operations across sites, while helping to minimise risk and protect both employees and clients.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage safety investigations, inspections, and compliance processes
- Oversee daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning of kitchen facilities
- Ensure all GMP and OHS Act documentation is accurately completed and maintained
- Promote health and safety awareness across all sites
- Monitor and enforce staff hygiene standards
- Review and approve corrective actions related to health and safety matters
- Ensure full compliance with food safety and health and safety procedures
- Facilitate on-the-job health and safety training
- Conduct monthly interdepartmental audits
- Report incidents, hazards, and maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain up-to-date health and safety records and documentation
- Monitor supplier service delivery and product quality
- Participate in client and internal audits
- Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential risks

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Solid understanding of food safety practices
- Strong client service orientation
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Health & Safety certification (e.g. SAMTRAC, SHE Representative, or equivalent)
- 2–3 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably within Catering, Hospitality, or Food Services
- Working knowledge of the OHS Act and basic risk management principles
- Experience with incident reporting and conducting safety inspections
- First Aid and/or Fire-Fighting certification (advantageous)
- Strong administrative and communication skills
