The Harmony Bursary 2026, offered by Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd, is designed to provide financial support to talented students, particularly those from communities near the company’s mining operations. It funds full-time studies at accredited public universities across South Africa, with preference given to fields such as engineering and other critical disciplines. Applicants must meet specific academic requirements, including strong results in Mathematics, Science, and English, and must submit all supporting documents by the closing date of 10 October 2025. The bursary not only covers tuition but also aims to develop future professionals who can contribute to both the mining industry and the broader South African economy.

Minimum Academic Requirements

        • Be a South African Mathematics: Rating level 5 (60%) for non-engineering studies. Science: Similar rating (Level 5/60% or Level 6/70%) if required for the chosen engineering course
        • Level 6 (70%) if for engineering studies. English: rating Level 5 (60%)

Required Documents & Supporting Documents

        • A certified copy of personal identity (ID or birth certificate).
        • Proof of academic results (for Grade 12 applicants: latest Grade 11 December results, and Grade 12 mid-term/preliminary where applicable; for current tertiary students: full academic transcript).
        • Curriculum vitae (max 3 pages) if already in higher education.
        • Proof of address.
        • Registration or acceptance letter from the institution.

Other Important Regulations 

        • Applicants who already have sponsorship from another bursary/scholarship are not considered.
        • Applications must be complete; incomplete or late submissions are automatically ineligible.
        • Applicants with disabilities are welcome, but selection may consider whether the physical demands of the chosen qualification are compatible.
