A fast-growing scale-up SaaS company is seeking a skilled QA Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts across their platform.

This role exists to ensure the reliability and quality of a fast-evolving product used by small service providers. Working closely with the CTO, development, and product teams, the Automation Test specialist will take ownership of quality assurance, from strategy through execution. The focus will be on building scalable testing frameworks, improving release velocity, and maintaining high standards across a complex tech stack—all while balancing speed with robust test coverage. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Rosebank, with flexibility offered post-probation.

This role forms part of a small, focused, lean software product engineering team.  The team choses to work mostly in person in office, therefore this role requires an individual who also enjoys working with other people and will contribute to culture while scaling and improving this product.  This role will not suit an individual who requires to work remotely full time.

Duties and responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive automated testing frameworks
• Perform exploratory, usability, and edge case manual testing where automation is not suitable
• Create and maintain automated API test suites
• Test mobile applications across multiple devices and platforms, both manually and through automation
• Conduct integration testing across the full technology stack
• Validate system performance under various load conditions
• Collaborate with developers to promote test-driven development practices
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD deployment pipeline
• Create and manage test data sets for various scenarios
• Document, track, and verify bug fixes
• Establish and monitor key quality metrics

Requirements

• Experience with at least one automation framework (Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright)
• API testing using Postman or similar tools
• Test management in Jira or an equivalent tool
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks
• 3+ years of experience as an automation tester in a SaaS or product environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for quality
• Experience designing test strategies for systems with high concurrency
• A data-driven mindset, using metrics to guide testing and demonstrate improvements
• Attention to detail paired with an understanding of the broader user experience
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Curiosity about new testing tools and quality assurance methodologies
• A sense of ownership and accountability for ensuring smooth and effective releases
