Job Description
Role Overview
Support the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy and annual plan. This role involves conceptualising, drafting, designing, implementing, and monitoring communication initiatives for Juristic Business Areas, with a strong focus on CIB’s internal and external communications.
The objective is to influence stakeholder perceptions, strengthen brand positioning, and enhance Nedbank’s reputation, trust, and overall client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, measure, and report on communication coverage, effectiveness, and impact.
- Manage communication budgets where applicable, ensuring alignment with implementation plans.
- Ensure all communications adhere to Nedbank’s brand and trademark guidelines.
- Apply a strong understanding of the business environment to deliver credible and effective messaging.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the communications value chain.
- Engage stakeholders to promote the brand, customer value proposition (CVP), employee value proposition (EVP), products, and services.
- Support and amplify Nedbank’s voice within the B2B marketplace through strategic communication initiatives.
- Develop and execute integrated communication strategies across multiple channels, including:
- Media and public relations
- Internal communications
- Brand marketing and advertising
- Digital, social, and emerging media
- Content production
- Leverage integrated communication approaches to optimise channel mix and enhance digital engagement.
- Provide strategic communication input into business strategies, marketing plans, and campaigns across the customer lifecycle.
- Develop a deep understanding of business unit strategies, marketing objectives, customer value propositions, and product offerings.
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Communications, Marketing, Branding, PR, Advertising, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in communications, marketing, branding, PR, research, or advertising
Technical Competencies
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout, and design skills, with the ability to leverage AI tools for efficiency
- Ability to define tone, style, and creative direction in line with brand guidelines
- Knowledge of integrated communications strategy development and execution
- Understanding of media, publishing, broadcasting, digital, and social media practices
- Experience developing and implementing communication and advocacy campaigns
- Strong business writing and storytelling skills
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content
- Data literacy, with the ability to measure and optimise communication performance
- Experience engaging stakeholders throughout content development, review, and approval processes
- Knowledge of B2B communication dynamics and alignment with business and marketing strategies
