About the Programme

Marriot International is now seeking candidates to apply for their Accelerate Orientation Trainee Programme.

Marriot International Offers 2 Programmes:

• Accelerate Orientation Trainee Programme
• 3-year long Accelerate Programme

The Accelerate Orientation Trainee Programme is a One year programme designed to give candidates practical working experience in a hotel. It is a prerequisite to entering the 3-year long Accelerate Programme. The purpose of the Orientation year is for the candidate to obtain realism of career choice and suitability for the industry; before applying and committing to the 3-year long program.

The 3-year long Accelerate Programme is a youth development program in either hospitality management or professional cookery that spans over a period of 3 years. It is aimed at South African nationals; and is designed to successfully drive increased levels of engagement and interest into this ever-growing sector. The objective of Accelerate is to ensure that each individual receives development, both practical and formal academic, to serve as a foundation for their career in hospitality.

Programme Requirements

• Must be a South African citizen by birth
• Must be between the ages of 18 and 22; and not turn older than 22 in the year being applied for
• Matric (Grade 12) certificate or equivalent qualification
• Must have passed all 7 Matric (Grade 12) subjects; preferably each subject must be achieved at 50% and higher
• Candidates that do not meet the required Matric results will be reviewed on a case by case basis
• Only applicants that do not have any post Matric / NQF 4 / NCV 4 qualifications will be considered
