Job Description

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, managing and executing the full on-site marketing function for the Centre. The role focuses on developing and implementing sustainable marketing, brand, public relations and communication strategies that support the Centre’s objectives, enhance brand presence, drive foot traffic and increase tenant turnover. The position also leads the marketing team, manages service providers, and represents Centre management in all marketing-related activities.

Key Performance Areas

Marketing Strategy and Budget Management
• Develop a comprehensive annual marketing strategy aligned to the Centre’s objectives and research insights
• Compile and manage the annual marketing budget in line with the approved strategy
• Execute the marketing strategy on a day-to-day basis
• Monitor and control marketing expenditure to ensure alignment with planned activities

Brand Strategy and Advertising Management
• Coordinate creative campaigns for the Centre brand, events and promotions
• Manage the full creative and production process from concept to delivery
• Determine appropriate media channels and manage media planning and bookings
• Act as the primary custodian of the Centre’s brand
• Ensure all marketing assets are properly maintained, recorded and stored
• Manage marketing administration and documentation
• Facilitate and record monthly marketing meetings with the property team

Promotions and Events Management
• Plan and implement annual, seasonal and ongoing promotions and events to sustain brand awareness
• Conceptualise events in line with the marketing strategy and Centre objectives
• Oversee the execution of events and promotional activities
• Secure sponsorships where possible to enhance event budgets
• Ensure events contribute to brand growth, increased foot traffic, improved turnover and extended dwell time

Digital and Social Media Management
• Implement and manage the Centre’s digital and social media strategy
• Ensure all digital engagement aligns with brand guidelines and best practice standards
• Manage social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter)
• Drive strategies to improve mobile app usage and digital engagement
• Oversee website redevelopment, optimisation and ongoing updates

Media Relations, Public Relations and Communications
• Develop and implement a PR strategy aligned to the marketing plan
• Manage PR activities to maximise publicity and brand exposure
• Prepare and distribute press releases to targeted media platforms
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key media contacts
• Maintain an up-to-date media contact database
• Develop and manage a crisis communication plan and ensure management alignment

Exhibitions and Indoor/Outdoor Sales
• Develop and implement the exhibitions and indoor/outdoor sales strategy
• Ensure sales income targets are achieved or exceeded
• Ensure all exhibition activities comply with Centre regulations and brand standards
• Manage service level agreements with external media or sales agencies
• Implement effective controls and procedures to support a results-driven sales function

Corporate Social Investment and Tenant Engagement
• Develop and implement a CSI strategy aligned to the marketing plan
• Coordinate CSI initiatives, partnerships and events
• Implement a structured tenant relationship and communication plan
• Manage tenant induction processes and provide marketing support for new store openings
• Initiate tenant training, workshops, service audits and awards programmes where applicable
• Ensure regular tenant communication through newsletters and updates
• Engage with regional retail partners and major tenants to share insights and encourage collaboration

Reporting and Research
• Prepare and submit detailed monthly marketing reports for Centre owners and management
• Implement research initiatives and manage appointed research service providers
• Facilitate focus groups, surveys and data collection initiatives as required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Marketing Manager within a retail environment
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute marketing plans
• Proven people management and leadership capability
• Strong industry credibility and professional reputation
• Results-driven, proactive and able to work independently
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
