Job Description

A well-established trust and investment management firm based in Rondebosch is seeking a meticulous Bookkeeper / Accountant to join their dedicated finance team. This organisation specialises in providing comprehensive financial planning and investment services to clients, particularly those focused on retirement. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the company by managing core accounting functions, ensuring all transactions are processed with the highest degree of accuracy and within established internal controls. The working hours for this position follow standard professional office hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end creditors function, including accurate processing and monthly reconciliation of the creditors control account.
  • Manage the preparation and processing of the company cashbook, ensuring correct account allocations for all entries.
  • Execute debtors processing and perform regular reconciliations of the debtors control account.
  • Prepare and facilitate EFT payments while strictly adhering to internal controls to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organised company records, including the management of electronic filing systems.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in a similar bookkeeping or accounting function, specifically covering debtors, creditors, and cashbook management.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail within a high-volume processing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Professional fluency in English (both written and verbal).
  • Solid ethical standing with a high degree of personal integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant accounting degree or certificate is preferred.
  • Previous experience within the financial services or investment management industry.
  • Prior experience using Sage 300 ERP.

Required Software Skills

  • Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
  • Sage 300 People (or Sage 300 ERP)
