The Monocle Foundation is a philanthropic educational trust established in 2014. Its mission is to support previously disadvantaged Black females in South Africa by offering tertiary-level scholarships. The Foundation aims to empower recipients through financial support, essential resources such as laptops and study materials, personal development, career counselling, and training.

Minimum Requirements
Must be a South African citizen
Must be female
Must be Black (African, Coloured, Indian, or Asian), preferably those with limited to no other funding
Academic Status
Must have completed Matric (Grade 12)
Must be enrolled in a tertiary institution for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, and be in your second year of study or higher
Accepted Courses
The bursary is open to students pursuing degrees in the following fields (including but not limited to):
Accounting
Computer Science
Economics
Engineering
Finance
Mathematics
Medicine
Supporting Documents Required
Applicants must submit the following:
A motivation or cover letter addressed to the Trustees explaining background, field of study, career goals, and reasons for applying
An updated CV
A certified copy of their South African ID
A Matric certificate
A full academic record or recent transcripts stamped by the institution
A degree certificate (if applying for postgraduate study)
A breakdown of funds required, including tuition, accommodation, and study materials
