The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship Programme is designed for high-potential Grade 12 learners who demonstrate strong academic ability and a passion for making a meaningful impact.
This prestigious programme offers needs-based university funding alongside structured personal and entrepreneurial development. The aim is to cultivate future leaders who will contribute positively to their communities and the broader South African economy.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Achieve at least 60% in Pure Mathematics OR 80% in Mathematical Literacy (Grade 11 final results)
- Maintain a minimum overall average of 70% (excluding Life Orientation)
- Be currently in Grade 12 in the year of application
- Be under the age of 21 in the year of application
- Be a South African citizen
Fields of Study
Applicants must intend to study one of the following degree streams:
- Commerce
- Science
- Engineering
- Law
- Humanities
- Arts
- Health Sciences (excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry)
At one of the following universities:

- UJ
- UCT
- NMU
- Rhodes University
- UWC
- Stellenbosch University
- University of Pretoria
- University of the Free State
- UKZN
- TSiBA
Application Process
- Submit your application online or via post before 30 April 2026 (17:00 SAST)
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews in July 2026
- Successful interviewees will attend a selection camp in September 2026
