About the job

We are seeking a highly motivated and number’s proficient candidate to join our dynamic investment reporting team. The successful candidate will support the investment consulting team by providing data and reports based on information gathered within the team. The successful candidate will be responsible to delivering performance reporting accurately and on time to the consulting team.

 

Location: Cape Town

 

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance or information systems or similar field.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CIPM or Actuarial) beneficial.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in investment reporting, financial analysis, or a related field.

 

Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA and Macros. Persons without these skills need not apply. Knowledge of Python or R will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and understanding of relational databases.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and data analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with financial reporting software and data management tools is preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed investment reports, including performance metrics, asset allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain data models supporting investment analytics, performance measurement and client reporting.
  • Design and Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI or relevant tools.
  • Review and validate investment data received from various sources that has been captured by the team, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions to manipulate and analyse large datasets.
  • Integrate data from multiple systems and platforms to create consolidated reports.
  • Create and manage complex financial models and forecasting tools using advanced Excel techniques.
  • Develop and automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of investment portfolios, including performance evaluation, risk assessment, and benchmarking.
  • Support the investment team with data-driven insights and recommendations to inform investment strategies.
  • Ensure all reporting and analysis comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of reporting processes, methodologies, and data sources.
