Job Description
South African National Parks (SANParks), the leading conservation authority managing over 3.7 million hectares across 20 national parks, is offering a 24-month Internship Programme for unemployed graduates. SANParks operates under the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003) and is committed to developing young talent while supporting conservation and socio-economic transformation.
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R6 335.69 for the duration of the programme. Please note that SANParks is under no obligation to offer permanent employment upon completion of the internship.
Fields of Study & Placement Areas
Graduates with a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the following disciplines are encouraged to apply:
- Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance & Accounting – Tourism and Marketing
- Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications – Wild Card / CRM and Loyalty
- Administration – Socio-Economic Transformation (Kruger National Park)
- Business Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related – Socio-Economic Transformation (Knysna, George, Plettenberg Bay, Port Elizabeth)
- Information Science – Communications
- Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development or related – ICT
- Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing or related – Communications
- Events Management, Hospitality, Public Relations or related – Communications
- Accounting – Finance
- Environmental Education, Natural or Social Sciences – Socio-Economic Transformation (Groenkloof)
- Social Sciences (e.g. Anthropology, Sociology, Community Development, Environmental Management, Development Studies, Heritage Studies) – Socio-Economic Transformation (Port Elizabeth)
- LLB – Legal Services
Minimum Requirements
- Must be an unemployed South African graduate between the ages of 18 – 35
- Must hold a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in a relevant field from a recognised South African Higher Education Institution
- Must not have previously participated in an internship or placement programme
- Must not have prior formal work experience
