<p>Partner with the Regional Head of FSSA to manage, grow and lead teams engaged on finance operations across Finance Shared Services in Africa.</p>
<p>Align the strategy to complement the Functional and Operational strategy and provide an environment for growth and development of the operational model. Develop a sustainable relationship model between the FSSA and the stakeholder teams especially the Finance Executive, Senior Finance Business Partners and their teams. To lead and drive key strategic and operational projects.</p>

<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>Leadership &#8211; Manage Finance Operations Including Defining Strategy, Seeking Sponsorship and Integrate Existing and New Processes:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, direct and manage the finance operations covering financial control, fixed assets, CRES finance and ETA functions.</li>
<li>Build a streamlined financial control team by identifying processes that can be streamlined and grouped together.</li>
<li>Define vision, strategy for driving identification, sponsorship from Group CFO, Financial controllers, Business CFO to transition work within the finance shared services.</li>
<li>Develop the finance target operating model to support Global Finance and Finance Shared Services.</li>
<li>Manage finance portfolio capability overseeing definition and delivery of all programmes and the realization of value, efficiencies and synergies.</li>
<li>Assist the Regional Head of FSSA with the execution of consolidation opportunities.</li>
<li>Acts as a role model, visibly and consistently behaving in ways that reinforce culture, encouraging others to do the same and challenging staff and colleagues who don’t.</li>
<li>Responsible for managing the budget for transforming the organization and monitoring the return on the investment.</li>
<li>Support in the development of robust business case for the development of Finance Shared Services Africa.</li>
<li>Manage the budget for the team circa R10-20M.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Identify, Own and Drive Automation and Transformation Programs:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify industry best in class solutions in identification and delivery of transformation programs.</li>
<li>Drive new thinking within the business and group finance team by proactively identifying, incubating and packaging relevant concepts/solutions that can be applied in meeting the strategic agenda on costs and controls.</li>
<li>Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and to enhance the service offering as appropriate.</li>
<li>Identify, own and deliver automation programs including robotics within FSSA processes including invoice processing, journals, reporting and reconciliations.</li>
<li>Lead and manage transformation programs.</li>
<li>Pro-actively participate in the Absa Finance community.</li>
<li>Drive value added operational performance, develop new strategies to generate change initiatives and promote business growth and efficiency.</li>
<li>Responsible for presenting regular updates on the plans and delivery against targets to senior leadership including Finance Director, and senior Finance Leaders.</li>
<li>Set the right shoring agenda to optimize capability for processes and people</li>
<li>Work with the key players in the wider finance teams to build and deliver a new business pipeline of activities; review and monitor.</li>
<li>Develop the operating model with the Regional Head FSSA and other relevant stakeholders for the migration of new work in F&amp;A operations.</li>
<li>Establish and monitor standards and metrics to support excellence in process transition.</li>
</ul>

<li>Responsible for developing the communication and engagement model for the Finance Shared Service Team, with all levels of management up to MD.</li>
<li>Develop and set an agreed agenda with all business partners; manage, track and deliver to goals and SLAs.</li>
<li>Stay abreast of Regulatory environment changes, business processes, requirements and policies to ensure that projects/change initiatives are efficient and affective.</li>

<li>B-degree, CA (SA) (NQF level no.7)</li>
<li>At least 12 years’ experience in managing finance processes within banking / financial Services</li>

<li>Minimum 7 years people management and management experience</li>
<li>Experience   driving   programs   utilizing   skills   across   lean,   six   sigma   and   robotics automation</li>

<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Perform assigned tasks and escalate issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations.</li>
<li>Coordinate with suppliers to initiate warranty claim and process failed vendor hardware devices. This includes information processing, packaging, shipment, and receipt of return for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) devices following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to RMA warranty process.</li>
<li>Leverage process knowledge and best judgment to complete tasks with minimal direct supervision.</li>
<li>Maintains a strong focus to understand the impact of their work when completing tickets and assigned Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) tasks.</li>
<li>Maintains and steward up-to-date and accurate logical information within various inventory management systems (e.g., configuration management databases, asset management repositories).</li>
<li>Ensures detailed physical inventory tracking and staging. Help to reconcile and report inventory discrepancies.</li>
<li>Performs destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Microsoft policies as necessary.</li>
<li>Notifies management about ordering stock shortages. Escalates any issues to management.</li>

<p>The successful candidate will be responsible for processing of monthly journals, review of general ledgers, preparation of management accounts and relevant supporting performance measures which will be reviewed by the Senior Financial Accountant. <p><strong>Financial metrics</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Review of general ledgers to ensure cashbook and creditors capturing are correctly allocated and VAT correctly accounted for.</li>
<li>Capturing and posting of monthly journals.</li>
<li>Preparation of monthly management accounts.</li>
<li>Preparation of performance measures relevant to the management accounts.</li>
<li>Ensure the management accounts are prepared timeously to ensure there is adequate time for review by the Senior Financial Accountant.</li>
<li>Preparation of annual financial statements.</li>
<li>Responsible for binding the final pack of management accounts which will be reviewed by the Group Financial Manager.</li>
<li>Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations by deadline communicated by the Senior Financial Accountant.</li>
<li>Ensure routine transactions (expenses, asset purchases, cash book entries, sales etc.) are processed timeously by subordinates.</li>
<li>Processing of non-routine transaction (depreciation, impairments, provisions, finance costs/income, discounting, lease straight-ling, management fees, administration fees etc.) and complex transactions</li>
<li>Ensure correct capitalization of assets vs expensing repairs/maintenance or expensing items that will be consumed within one month.</li>
<li>Ensure the cashbook clerks, creditors and debtors meet there deadlines which will allow sufficient time for review of all general ledgers before the preparation of management accounts.</li>
<li>Review VAT general ledger account, prepare Output and Input Reasonableness schedules and VAT Reconciliation which will be reviewed by the Senior Financial Accountant for the period which it’s due.</li>
<li>Review and approve all loan, creditors, facility, instalment sales reconciliations to external statements</li>
<li>Process accruals ( test estimation accuracy by reference to trends and comparison of actual results to previous estimates)</li>
<li>Process goods in transit to the goods in transit liability account based on risk and rewards associated with various shipping terms and reconcile to the goods in transit stock account.</li>
<li>Preparation of listing were orders are matched to DN and follow up on unfilled orders to ascertain completeness of stock/creditor.</li>
<li>Preparation of the calculation of short term portions and ensure reliable data sheets are maintained to enable this monthly.</li>
<li>Process monthly standing debit orders (rent, insurance, telephone, subscriptions etc.).</li>
<li>Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in the preparation of Budgets.</li>
<li>Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with the quarterly mini audit.</li>
<li>Prepare all schedules required by the External Auditors, Internal Auditors and BEE Auditors.</li>
<li>Facilitate requests by External Auditors, Internal Auditors and BEE Auditors for documents required for substantive testing.</li>
<li>Assist Senior Financial Accountant on ad hoc tasks which will enable him/her to fulfill their duties</li>
<li>Process credit notes.</li>

<li>Produce high quality, neat, logical, succinct, easy to follow, easy to understand, formula linked work/templates/workbooks/financial models &#8211; of which is substantiated by facts with no numbers in the formulas.</li>
<li>Ensure the above (final version) and other documents are chronologically saved/backed up.</li>
<li>100% compliance with COSACT, Tax acts, IFRS/IFRS for SMEs and other laws/regulations relating to finance.</li>
<li>Preparation of to department process write-ups/ system descriptions and quarterly updating.</li>

Responsibilities include communicating company and position details to new hires before their start date, gathering necessary paperwork, scheduling induction and helping new team members adjust well to our work environment.                     <description><![CDATA[<p>Purpose of role:<br />
Reporting to the Chief Financial, Risk and Compliance Officer, this regulatory Compliance role has the responsibility to cover a number of compliance requirements including FAIS, FICA, AML, JSE and A2X. The role also involves assisting the Board in ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures while maintaining a strong compliance culture within the business. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of Stockbroking Operations and a working knowledge of FAIS, FICA and AML/CFT requirements.</p>
<p>Duties and responsibilities:</p>
<p>Regulatory Compliance, AML &amp; Monitoring</p>
<ul>
<li>Conduct real-time monitoring of trading activity across all asset classes to ensure compliance, detect irregularities, and manage risks.</li>
<li>Monitoring of daily CAPAD trading Limits and Monthly submission to JSE and A2X.</li>
<li>AML – Conduct ongoing compliance and AML reviews in line with regulatory requirements and the company’s compliance program.</li>
<li>Oversee access controls for trading and back-office systems to ensure compliance.</li>
<li>Perform daily compliance checks to identify misdeals, outstanding allocations, incorrect journal entries, and faulty payments, escalating exceptions as required.</li>
<li>Analyse root causes of compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.</li>
<li>Prepare and submit all FAIS regulatory reports within the required timelines.</li>
<li>Ensure reporting obligations, both internal and regulatory reporting requirements, are conducted within required timelines.</li>
<li>Take responsibility for the management and coordination of the regulatory and compliance training register, ensuring all regulatory training requirements are effectively tracked, reported and adhered to.</li>

<p>Stakeholder Engagement &amp; Risk Management</p>

<li>Provide guidance and support to internal business units on FAIS, FICA, and other relevant regulations.</li>

<li>Build and maintain strong working relationships with Regulators and other key governance stakeholders.</li>
<li>Assist in the development and implementation of risk-mitigation strategies to ensure adherence to financial laws and best practices.</li>
<li>Coordinate regulatory engagements, including site visits.</li>
<li>Escalate issues of non-compliance and manage all incident reporting to the Board and Exco.</li>

<li>Contribute to process improvements and development of data-driven reporting.</li>
<li>Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP) testing as required.</li>

<p>Regulatory Awareness &amp; Training</p>

<p>Required experience:</p>
<ul>
<li>8 &#8211; 10 years’ experience in a similar role in stockbroking or financial services where you have had exposure to the full compliance function.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of FAIS, FICA, POCA, and other relevant financial regulations.</li>
<li>Strong expertise in stockbroking operations, including local and international settlements.</li>
<li>Experience in monitoring FAIS compliance, including Fit &amp; Proper requirements.</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office (Excel essential).</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of FICA and KYC documentation requirements for both domestic and international entities.</li>
</ul>

<p>Required Qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>BCom, B.Compt, BSc, LLB, FRM, or an equivalent qualification is essential.</li>
